About Mahina Retreat
Mahina is a feminine name of Hawaiian origin, meaning “moon” or “moonlight.” In Hawaiian mythology, Mahina is a name shared with the goddess of the Moon.
Mahina Retreat is blessed with breathtaking full moons lighting up the waters seen across from the property.
Holding space for small retreats, workshops and professional development training, this venue is ideal. We cater for visiting groups and guests, offering an environment of beauty, tranquility and inspiration. Ideal for yoga + meditation retreats, art + the creative process, self-healing workshops and cooking retreats.
Magic blue turquoise beach
Nestled in a quiet corner of Grasstree Beach overlooking Zelma Bay and Cabbage Tree Creek the two-kilometre-long beach is known for marine turtle nesting and is home to our local whistling ducks as well as rare and threatened species, including migratory shorebirds. Beautiful bird song can be heard all day long and even sometimes at night.
Grasstree Beach is a quiet, safe haven. It offers bush walking, beach walking, bird watching, bike riding, horseback riding, boating, fishing or just relaxing on the verandah enjoying the view. Who says you have to do anything?

Our Villa accommodation
The living rooms are comfortable with a focus on the sweeping views. They have comfy leather sofas and TV screens with free streaming services.
The large kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and appliances, including dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, and gas cooktop.
The outdoor 12.5m magnesium pool with Grecian spa, has sun lounges and under cover seating with a poolside pizza oven and bar fridge for your convenience.
Other outdoor entertaining facilities include a large teppanyaki bar on the ocean front verandah with several seating areas.
Full of natural light, the ground level studio space opens onto the front garden with ocean views. It’s the perfect space for an art studio or massage treatment room or private consultation.
The Villa has direct beach access, plenty of parking, is fully air-conditioned and has free WiFi.
